Our Ethos
Believe in the Process
As Performance Endurance Training, we have a mantra in supporting our athletes – ‘Believe in the Process’.
“The process of setting a goal on the outer boundaries of what we think is possible, and then systematically pursuing it, is one of the most fulfilling parts of being human” Stulberg & Magness (2017)
We all set goals in our lives and then go through a process as we strive to fulfil them. Running should be no different if we want to be the best we can be. As coaches we embody the following fundamental principles to make sure that our athletes can perform to their full potential:
- Providing appropriate individualised support is key
- Training plan needs to be tailored, flexible and adaptable
- The process of improvement will happen if we stick to simple consistent programming
- Monitoring of the athletes overall health and fitness data is key pieces of evidence to help guide effective training
- Coaching qualifications are fundamental as a base to providing good quality coaching
- Everyone should have access to the right coach who is the right fit for them regardless of the athletes geographical location
- An effective athlete-coach relationship is a non-negotiable
- Coaches should be willing to pass on the knowledge they hold so that athletes understand the ‘why’ around their training
- Open communication is key to forming a solid and effective team
